Team Flinders Vietnam Cycle Have Arrived!

I am writing from the overnight train as Team Flinders head south to Hue, where we will begin our cycle challenge. The rumbling of the carriages, the humming of the air conditioner, and the quiet whispers of excitement from these amazing 37 cyclists are just electric!

The group spent the day exploring the sites and sounds of historic Hanoi. The main attraction was most definitively the embalmed body of Ho Chi Minh himself. After lunch it was all about shopping, as Kevin lead the pack in individual purchasing prowess. Once again these Australians seems to be major backers of the ever growing Vietnamese economy!

Dinner started with the usual seasonal pumpkin soup and continued with three courses of delectable fishes, meats, and vegetables that left us full and ready for the train journey ahead. It's 12 blissful hours aboard the reunification express before we arrive in Hue. No doubt we will be eating, drinking, and doing our best to sleep to ensure that we are rested and ready to get cycling tomorrow! One final note: Rob is no longer Rob. From this moment forward he is officially "Oscar's Dad."

Until next time...
